"Menomonie Thrives" is a nonpartisan local organization working to build community awareness and support for the operating referendum needed by the kids in the Menomonie area. At the heart of the Menomonie community is our shared commitment to quality education for our children. 

Over the years, the School District of the Menomonie Area (SDMA) has diligently streamlined operations, optimized resources, and explored every avenue to make each dollar count for the experience of our kids. However, inflationary costs and decreasing state support is now challenging the district's ability to maintain the standards of excellence that our students deserve. 

Even with careful, student-focused budgeting, the reality is that costs continue to rise, and state support has not kept pace. The time has come for the Menomonie community to make a crucial decision – to ensure the future success of our students, the district needs to pass a vital operating referendum on February 20, 2024 to increase the school district budget. This will involve a small increase in local property taxes, which will be a huge investment in our kids, helping Menomonie thrive for another generation.
